November CMM- Sustainability

Business Acumen

As project managers, we need to influence the future of our planet and the projects that get funding from clients. Our planet has become reliant on using cars and this had hampered our health and wellness as a species. We are sitting for 8-10 hours a day and we are living lifestyles that are unsustainable to living a long and healthy life as well as negatively affecting the environment. Project managers hold the future in our hands and we need to make the right decisions to support these sustainable projects in order to secure a healthier lifestyle option for the future generations. This presentation will show examples of projects in the Kansas City Area that are representative of sustainable design, how to secure funding through grant programs and environmental initiatives, unique ideas for providing services that could improve conditions while also benefiting the tax payers health and wellness.
