What’s In Between? Hybrid Agile Processes for Product Development Speaker: Teresa Jurgens-Kowal Over the past few years, many organizations that manufacture tangible products have attempted Agile approaches for new product development. Unfortunately, many of these processes fail to deliver the expected results in speed-to-market and flexibility. Yet, returning to a full waterfall process remains bureaucratic and intractable with remote and virtual teams. The solution is a hybrid agile-waterfall process.

Managing projects with resource constraints Projects have always had to deal with unplanned resource constraints, staffing, materials, money all raise their heads at one time or another on large projects. Project risk registers carry contingencies for unplanned impacts to the project. Since the start of the pandemic, these risks related to resource constraints have increased in areas of project management that previously were considered low risk. Geopolitical forces can impact material delivery on a global scale overnight requiring equivalency evaluations and material substitutions and in worst cases project delays. Project managers need to upgrade their risk review and uncertainties surrounding project resources.
